I have been blessed with the gift of experiencing the birth of this work from its conception. Driven by a deep love for Jesus, His most holy Mother, and St. Francis, through countless hours of prayer and guided by the Holy Spirit, my beloved spouse was able to gather the contents you are about to read. What you are now holding in your hands is a very exciting gift to a question we often ask ourselves, “What more can I do?”. As you ponder the pages of this writing, you will find that there is something “more to do” for every moment God blesses you with in this life. It is a wonderful gathering of references to our chosen way of life. Our Rule of today, the Rule of St. Francis’ day, and the gospel all intertwined so that we may better discern what a Franciscan lifestyle might be for each one of us on our journey of spiritual growth. Some may find difficulty in applying all sources to their daily lifestyle while others may find it easier. We are all on different rungs of the ladder to perfection. None will ever reach the top. We can only strive to climb higher for we all know that no one is perfect except our most loving, merciful God. I thank God for His holy inspiration to my husband, who is my most precious gift from Him. I also thank my husband for his dedication and sacrifice in bringing this wonderful resource to the Franciscan Order, and to special friends Theresa and Penny for adding the touch of beauty. |
