Fourth Sunday of Lent; The Truths of God’s Divine Will
(November 13, 1915) Our Lord says: It was My Humanity that opened this door to the creatures, giving them the merit to receive Me. You – My daughter; do it in My Will; united to My Humanity. In this way you will enclose everything, and I will find in you the reparations of all, the reward for everything, and My satisfaction. Even more, I will find in you another Me. (to Luisa)
Doing God’s Will…Divine Mercy…Faustina
“Throughout the long hours I adore You, O living Bread, amidst the great drought in my soul. O Jesus, pure Love, I do not need consolations; I am nourished by Your will, O mighty One! Your will is the goal of my existence. It seems to me that the whole world serves me and depends on me. You, O Lord, understand my soul with all its aspirations. “(195)
“God made known to me, what true love consists in and gave light to me about how, in practice, to give proof of it to Him. True love of God consists in carrying out God’s will. To show God our love in what we do, all our actions, even the least, must spring from our love of God.” (279)
Jesus: “Know that when you mortify your own self will, then Mine reigns within you.” (365)
Jesus: ‘I am with you. During this retreat, I will strengthen you in peace and in courage so that your strength will not fail in carrying out My designs. Therefore you will cancel out your will absolutely in this retreat and, instead, My complete will shall be accomplished in you. Know that it will cost you much, so write these words on a clean sheet if paper: “From today on, my own will does not exist,” and then cross out the page. And on the other side write these words: “From today on, I do the will of God everywhere, always, and in everything.” Be afraid of nothing; love will give you strength and make the realization of this easy. (372)
I demand of you a perfect and whole-burnt offering; an offering of the will. no other sacrifice can compare with this one.. Let nothing terrify you for I am with you. (923)
Host pleasing to My Father, know, My daughter, that the entire Holy Trinity finds Its special delight in you, because you live exclusively by the will of God. No sacrifice can compare with this.(955)
The Blessed Virgin Mary to St Faustina
“I very much desire that you distinguish yourself in this faithfulness in accomplishing God’s Will. Put the will of God before all sacrifices and holocausts”.
Faustina: While the heavenly Mother was talking to me, a deep understanding of this will of God was entering my soul.
Jesus: My child, make the resolution never to rely on people. Entrust yourself completely to My will saying,” Not as I want, but according to Your will, O God, let it be done unto me.” These words, spoken from the depths of one’s heart, can raise a soul to the summit of sanctity in a short time. In such a soul I delight. Such a soul gives Me glory. Such a soul fills heaven with the fragrance of her virtue. But understand that the strength by which you bear sufferings comes from frequent Communions. So approach this fountain of mercy often, to draw with the vessel of trust whatever you need. (1487 - Jesus to Suffering Souls)
Faustina: “There are times when He Himself allows terrible sufferings, and then again there are times when He does not let me suffer and removes everything that might afflict my soul. These are His ways , unfathomable and incomprehensible to us. It is for us to submit ourselves completely to His holy will. There are mysteries that the human mind will never fathom here on earth; eternity will reveal them. (1656)
When I entered my room, I steeped myself in prayer of thanksgiving for everything the Lord had been sending me throughout my whole life, surrendering myself totally to His most holy will. A deep joy and peace flooded my soul. I felt a peace so great that, if death had come at that moment, I would not have said to it, “Wait, for I have other matters to attend to.” No, I would have welcomed it with joy, because I am ready for the meeting with the Lord, not only today, but ever since the moment when I placed my complete trust in the Divine Mercy, resigning myself totally to His most holy will, full of mercy and compassion. I know what I am of myself.”
Doing God’s Divine Will…Luisa; Truths of the Divine Will
January 30, 1922 Volume 13
Each revealed truth is a new creation. Wanting to prevent this is an offense to God.
Luisa: As I was in my usual state, my adorable Jesus came, and seeing me all reluctant to manifest and write what He says to me, with such an imposing look as to make one tremble, told me: “My daughter, my word is creative, and each time I speak making a truth known which belongs to Me, is nothing less than new Divine creation that I make in the soul. When I created Heaven, with one single “FIAT” I extended the heavens and studded them with billions of stars, to the extent that there is not a point on the earth from which one cannot see this heaven. And if it could not be seen from some point - that would be a disorder for the Creative Power, and some may say that the creative force did not have the power to expand everywhere. In the same way, my truths are more than Heaven, which I would want to make known to all, from one end of the earth to another - making them pass from mouth to mouth as many stars, to adorn the Heaven of the truths I manifested.
If the creature wanted to hide my truths, it would be as if she wanted to prevent Me from creating Heaven; and with the secret that she would keep, she would dishonor Me. It would be as if a person wanted to prevent others from looking at Heaven, at the Sun, and at all the other things created by Me, so as not to make Me known. Ah, my daughter! Truth is Light, and Light diffuses by itself. However, in order to be diffused, it is necessary to make it known - it will do the rest by itself. Otherwise, it will remain compressed, without the good of being able to illuminate, and to follow the course it wants. Therefore, be attentive, and do not prevent Me from extending the Light of my Truths.”
Doing God’s Will: Divine Love
Sister Josefa Menendez (1890-1923
JOSEFA’S MISSION
Only very gradually did Our Lord unfold it to her; several times He had told her that He meant to make use of her to “carry out His plans” (9th February 1921) for “the saving of many souls that had cost Him so dear” (15th October 1920). On the night of 24th February 1921, He gave her a yet more explicit call during her Holy Hour: “The world does not know the mercy of My Heart,” He said to her. “I intend to enlighten them through you.… I want you to be the apostle of My love and mercy. I will teach you what that means; forget yourself.” And in answer to the fears she expressed: “Love and fear nothing. I want what you do not want, but I can do what you cannot. It is not for you to choose, you have only to resign yourself into My Hands.”
A few months rater, on Monday, 11th June 1921, a few days after the Feast of the Sacred Heart, when she had received many graces, He said: “Remember My words and believe them. My Heart has but one desire, which is to enclose you in It, to possess you in My love, then to make of your frailty and littleness a channel to convey mercy to many souls who will be saved by your means. Later on, I will reveal to you the burning secrets of My Heart and many souls will profit by them. I want you to write down and keep all I tell you. It will be read when you are in Heaven. Do not think that I make use of you because of your merits, but I want souls to realize how My Power makes use of poor and miserable instruments.” And as Josefa asked if she was to tell Reverend Mother even that, He answered: “Write it; it will be read after your death.”
So by degrees Our Lord unfolded His plan: Josefa was chosen by Him, not only to be a victim for souls, especially for consecrated ones, but that through her Christ’s Message of love and mercy might reach the world. A twofold mission-Victim and Messenger; and between the two missions there is a close connection. If Victim, then Messenger; and because Messenger; necessarily Victim.

He did not choose the learned and the great in the world’s eyes to found His Church, Saint Paul expressly tells us, otherwise the rapid spread of Christianity could have been attributed to their talents and prestige … but He chose the poor and the ignorant, and of these He made vessels of election.
LETTER OF THE HOLY FATHER POPE JOHN PAUL II TO PRIESTS
FOR HOLY THURSDAY 2004
7. Dear brother priests, your particular mission in the Church requires that you be “friends” of Christ, constantly contemplating his face with docility at the school of Mary Most Holy. Pray unceasingly, as the Apostle exhorts (cf. 1Th 5:17), and encourage the faithful to pray for vocations, for the perseverance of those called to the priestly life and for the sanctification of all priests. Help your communities to love ever more fully that unique “gift and mystery” which is the ministerial priesthood.
In the prayerful setting of Holy Thursday, I would recall once again some invocations of the Litany of Jesus Christ Priest and Victim (cf. Gift and Mystery, pp.108-114), which I have recited for many years with great spiritual profit:
Iesu, Sacerdos et Victima,
Iesu, Sacerdos qui in novissima Cena formam sacrificii perennis instituisti,
Iesu, Pontifex ex hominibus assumpte,
Iesu, Pontifex pro hominibus constitute,
Iesus, Pontifex qui tradidisti temetipsum Deo oblationem et hostiam,
miserere nobis!
Ut pastores secundum cor tuum populo tuo providere digneris,
ut in messem tuam operarios fideles mittere digneris,
ut fideles mysteriorum tuorum dispensatores multiplicare digneris,
Te rogamus, audi nos!
8. I entrust each of you and your daily ministry to Mary, Mother of Priests. During the recitation of the Rosary, the fifth mystery of light leads us to contemplate with Mary’s eyes the gift of the Eucharist, to marvel at the love that Jesus showed “to the end” (Jn 13:1) in the Upper Room, and at his humble presence in every tabernacle. May the Blessed Virgin obtain for you the grace never to take for granted the mystery put in your hands. With endless gratitude to the Lord for the amazing gift of his Body and Blood, may you persevere faithfully in your priestly ministry.
Mary, Mother of Christ our High Priest, pray that the Church will always have numerous and holy vocations, faithful and generous ministers of the altar!
Dear brother priests, I wish you and your communities a Holy Easter and to all of you I affectionately impart my blessing.
From: the Vatican, on 28 March, the Fifth Sunday of Lent, in the year 2004, the twenty- sixth of my Pontificate.
